Round Rock, Texas-based Dell, one of the world's leading vendors of personal and business computer systems, is expected to launch a new portable solution aimed at the business segment and part of the company's Latitude series of portable notebooks. Dubbed Latitude Z, the new PC is expected to provide customers with a choice for a high-end, ultraportable computer system that delivers a number of features specifically designed to meet the requirements of today's business users.

According to a recent news-report on the online version of Forbes, the PC vendor believes that the companies that have so far been preoccupied with dealing with the worldwide recession are finally ready to upgrade their technology. In that perspective, the company is planning a new laptop that will provide them with the latest technology and features, but at a cost. The Latitude Z is expected to deliver a number of specifically designed features, but will become available for a bit more than the US$1,100 price of a business laptop, as it is aimed at business executives, lawyers and people for whom design generally counts.

No specific details regarding the technical specs of the new machine have been made public but, according to the aforementioned article, the new laptop should be featured with a large 16-inch display, an Intel processor inside (likely one of the latest CULV or new Core i7 mobile CPUs), coupled with advanced wireless capabilities and a unique feature, like wireless charging.

With the launch of Windows 7 just around the corner, the new laptop is expected to provide an alternative for business users looking to upgrade their PCs to the latest solutions available on the market. Details on said Latitude Z series have surfaced for a while now, with pictures and a couple of speculations on the internal specifications. However, the PC vendor is yet to officially announce and detail the product.
