Prices of PV Solar Systems Go Down

Going green implies some significant financial advantages, according to a new study issued by Queen’s University in Ontario. It seems that the price of photovoltaic solar systems has decreased significantly, exceeding the developers' highest expectations.

Joshua Pearce, the author of the paper forecast that eco-friendly energy coming from the sun will become as affordable as traditional power, Clean Techies reports.

A similar report launched in 2010 estimated the cost at $7.61 for every watt of electricity obtained, but Pearce reveals it is actually a matter of cents, under $1 for solar panels bought in bulk.

He adds that previous studies focusing on maintenance costs, life expectancy and other factors have ignored the 70% cost reduction noticeable since 2009.

In order to prove his theory, he has launched a calculator to establish the exact costs triggered by solar power installations, which can be downloaded. A great tool available for every developer aiming to experience the eco-friendly benefits offered by sunlight.
