News and rumor websites tend to be the bearer of good news just as often as they bear the bad, and what we have here is definitely the bad.

According to a report from Digitimes, something important and unfortunate will take place over the next few months.

Graphics cards from AMD and NVIDIA that use DDR3 memory will rise in prices, and then there might be a second price increase after Intel launches the “Haswell” computer line in June, because a new wave of PC purchases and upgrades is expected.

For those unclear on the matter, graphics cards with DDR3 memory are the ones on the low-end and mid-range market.

Right now, all of them sell for under $100 / 100 Euro, but they might go above that mark if the worst happens.
