Video game publisher Bethesda is extending the trademarks it has linked to the Prey intellectual property at the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

This suggests that the company might be ready to offer more information on the status of the second video game in the series.

According to Gamespot, ZeniMax Media has the right to create television shows, online games, magazines, comic books and feature films linked to Prey.

The company has not commented on the trademark process.

The game has a troubled development history, with the company apparently disagreeing with developer Human Head Studios about the overall concept and the mechanics of the experience.

Bethesda explained during 2012 that the quality of the game was not up to standard, but that the process continued and that information would be offered once progress was made.
