Yesterday you were able to take a sneak peek at the new packaging for Windows Vista Home Basic, Business, Home Premium, Ultimate and Microsoft Office Professional and Home and Student 2007. Today is the turn of the new Multimedia and Productivity icons introduced in Windows Vista. You might as well get a heads up as to what you will be working with in Vista.

Windows Vista is on the ten yard line as far as RTM is concerned. This means that Microsoft is just fine tunning the operating system as Vista approaches the release to manufacturing date. And putting the final touches on Vista's Multimedia and Productivity icons qualifies as fine tunning Vista. In fact, Microsoft has begun introducing fit and finish touches in the operating system as far back as Build 5728 at the beginning of October. With Vista Build 5728, Microsoft revealed the new Folder Options dialog box overhauled icons which, to that point were borrowed from XP.

Now you can feast your eyes on the new Windows Vista Multimedia and Productivity icons. Windows Movie Maker, Windows Photo Gallery, Windows DVD Maker, Windows Mail, Windows Meeting Space, Windows Calendar and windows Contacts have all revamped icons. Vista and Office 2007 packaging preview, and now the new overhauled application icons are a clear indication of the fast approaching RTM. The image on the left features the icon of Windows Movie Maker, but you can see all of the icons involved in the picture bellow.
