"Pink - it's my new obsession/Pink - it's not even a question/Pink -it's the color of passion/'Cause today it just goes with the fashion". Sounds familiar? Well, it would seem that Aerosmith's lyrics are still extremely popular, as pink remains a favorite color for a large number of people out there, both male and female. And this is exactly why Garmin has come up with the new limited edition Pink nuvi 200 and nuvi 250 GPS navigators, which provide the same level of functionality as their normal counterparts, while wearing more colorful "clothes".
Obviously, the main selling
point of Garmin's special edition pink nuvi GPS navigators is the fact that they come in two contemporary colors of candy pink and powder pink, both paired with a free matching accessory case. However, they provide some other interesting features as well, since, besides being preloaded with maps, the pink nuvi editions have an easy-to-use color touch screen that allows users to simply enter a destination, the nuvi taking them there, with turn-by-turn voice directions. Furthermore, nuvi also provides safety camera alerts and a database of hotels, shops, restaurants, petrol stations and ATMs.
Garmin's "travel kit" is also included, with extras like a built-in picture viewer, calculator, currency converter, unit converter and world clock. Moreover, Garmin has also added the ability for customers to augment the preloaded maps with custom points of interest (POI's) from third parties such as the location of specialist shops and supermarkets. For security, the pink nuvi also comes with Garmin Lock, an anti-theft feature enabling drivers to set a four digit PIN to lock the nuvi to make sure no one else can use it.
The Garmin Locate feature provides instant peace of mind in the event of breakdown, and means that users can save the location of the car, wherever they might have parked it. Both versions include a vehicle suction cup mount, vehicle power cable, dashboard disk, and owner's reference manual.
The new pink nuvi GPS navigators will arrive in stores (for now, solely in Europe) in November 2007 and will retail for around 350 US dollars (the 200 model, available exclusively at a major UK retailer, with pre-loaded maps of UK and Ireland) and 410 US dollars (the 250 model, available at all Garmin retailers, with pre-loaded maps of the entire Europe).
