Given the fact that Internet tablets have become such a hot trend over the past couple of months, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that just about everyone out there's trying their best in order to get on-board this money-making “train”, and that's also the case with Prestigio, a well-known mid-range IT products and accessories' manufacturers.

We're not sure just how many of you are familiar with the Prestigio brand, but those of you who live in Central, South and Eastern Europe, as well as Russia, have surely come across the company's products, that deliver quite an acceptable price/performance ratio.

Anyway, given the fact that Prestigio's expertise in the field of Internet tablets is not exactly extensive, the company has decided to ask for help a much-better known manufacturer of such products, namely Archos, the two companies announcing a partnership for the development of a future family of tablets called the MultiPad.

Sadly, the two companies have not provided technical details for the Prestigio MultiPad tablets, only revealing the fact that they'll be available in 7 and 10-inch models and that they'll grant users access to a fairly large amount of content, via Prestigio's own portal.

“With Archos we have found the perfect partner to extend our product portfolio. We already claim leading positions in many countries with GeoVision GPS navigation devices and Prestigio eBook readers. Tablet PCs and MIDs in the Prestigio look and feel and performance are the logic next step.”, says Yuri Antoshkin, COO of Prestigio.

“Prestigio will allow Archos to leverage its technology in new territories”, states Loic Poirier, COO of Archos.

The Prestigio MultiPad tablets are set to be released in February 2011, and we certainly hope that we'll be able to offer you more details on their tech specs (and see whether they'll only be rebadged Archos products or actually provide some unique, innovative features).
