As some of you will certainly remember, we've talked a while ago about Prestigio and their plans of launching a couple of Internet tablets with some help from Archos, and now, the company has revealed the fact that it's going official with three MultiPad tablet models, all providing fairly similar features, but different screen sizes.

The mainstream MultiPad version is the 8.4-inch model, that delivers an 800 x 600 pixels resolution and runs just the Android 2.1 operating system (the fact that it's built around an ARM11 CPU running at 700mHz might have something to do with it).

Although there's no word about Marketplace access or upgrade possibilities, the manufacturers do inform us that future MultiPad users will be able to download various applications from AppsLib or Media.PrestigioPlaza.com

The device also boasts 2 x 128MB DDR memory, a 4000mAh battery pack (no details on the estimated functioning life, sadly), built-in Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) and a slot for Micro SD memory cards, supporting cards sized up to 16GB.

Furthermore, the MultiPad offers an extensive level of compatibility with various file types, including here eBooks (EPUB, PDF, TXT, FB2 formats), audio files (MP3, AAC, WAV, OGG, WMA, FLAC, APE), photos in JPG, BMP, GIF format and videos in AVI, 3GP, MP4, RM, RMVB, FLV, MKV, MOV formats.

Last, but certainly not least, it's important to mention that carrying the MultiPad around shouldn't really be much of a problem, given the fact that this thing measures 161.4 x 212.8 x 11 mm and weighs around 490 grams.

Finally, we'll have to point out that pricing for the 8.4-inch MultiPad is fairly within the normal boundaries for this type of products, the device selling for the equivalent of around 257 US dollars.

Beside the aforementioned 8.4-inch model, Prestigio also announced 7-inch and 10-inch versions, both of which will be available on the market in the near future starting at 267 and 451 US dollars, respectively.
