It often happens that we forget to see famous people, politicians included, as regular human beings, with likes, mood swings and even addictions. But it's true, try as they might, celebrities can't escape their human nature better than any of us can.

American president Barack Obama revealed his “human weaknesses” when he talked about his favorite TV shows. Interestingly enough, on top of his list of preferences is the medieval quest of power and intrigue from “Game of Thrones,” the hit TV show produced by HBO and based on George R. R. Martin's novels.

Less surprising is the next entry on the president's list: “House of Cards,” the political drama from Netflix. It's only natural that, as a man who spends his days roaming the halls of the White House, Obama would be interested in the portrayal of American political life.

Other shows that made the president's interests list are the historical drama “Boardwalk Empire” that showcases the story of bootleggers and mob bosses in the turn of the century New York. The popular series “Breaking Bad” also grabbed the president's attention, as did the Emmy-winning “Homeland” and “Downtown Abbey.”
