Hurricane Sandy has left a clear path of destruction all over the US East Coast, but President Barack Obama is warning people that the hardest part is just coming. Check out his statement above.

Speaking from a Red Cross facility in Washington, the President pledged to help victims of Sandy, saying he would do whatever he could to make sure they got the assistance they need as quickly as possible.

He also warned that the crisis “is not yet over”: meteorologists say more bad weather is coming but, at the same time, he could have also been referring to the disaster left behind.

“My instructions to the federal agencies have been, 'Do not figure out why we can't do something; I want you to figure out how we do something.’ There's no excuse for inaction at this point,” he said.

His message to the victims, in fewer words, is that “America is with you.”
