If you usually use your mobile phone to watch the latest videos online, then you will be happy to find out that YouTube has announced that they will be introducing interactivity cards.

Following a great number of demands coming from viewers to make the annotations available on mobile phones also, it would seem that YouTube decided to update the whole thing completely.

YouTube video creators will now be able to choose from six different types of cards, which will allow them to let their viewers know about any related videos, merchandise or anything else that they would like to advertise.

What is the difference between cards and annotations?

The most important difference would be that cards will be available on mobile phones as well, which is an amazing enhancement given that, according to Reelseo, almost 50% of YouTube's views come from mobile devices.

Furthermore, these cards can be used not only for pre-recorded videos but also for live-streaming ones.

YouTube announces that the annotations will disappear completely as soon as the interactivity cards are fully equipped with all the extra features.

Just like with the annotations, you have the option to set up some settings for the Cards, such as the time during the video when they should appear on the screen.

What is more, YouTube will allow viewers to choose if they want to see the entire Cards content by clicking on the information button from the top corner, or to simply ignore it if they are not interested in them.

As a creator, you should be able to add about five cards for each video you post online, which you can later on edit or even delete using the Cards option.

This enhancement might come in handy for bigger or smaller companies which will be able to advertise their products and services easier, by using links that will take customers to their websites from where they can buy them.
