The future is here

Do you think the rumors for today are over? Well, you'd better think again, because the reality is completely different. This time, we're talking about really BIG things. Last year, Apple moved from PowerPC to Intel processors. First, they got the Intel Core Duo, and now, they got the Intel Core 2 Duo processors, but I can smell some more changes coming up, really soon. Are you ready for one of the most interesting rumors lately heard? Here it goes...

To be honest, I had a dual core processor in my mind for a while, but I still didn't manage to upgrade, due to various reasons. For my usual office tasks and occasional gaming that I use my home computer most of the time, my old Athlon XP processor is still enough, and the longer I'll keep it, the more interesting will be the performance jump when I'll finally decide to upgrade, but I can't even dare to think about jumping to an 8-core system. Where my imagination doesn't dare to go, Apple will walk peacefully pretty soon, since various sources indicated that the new Mac Pro configuration that should be launched this month will feature no less than two Quad-core Intel processors! Two processors, four cores each... that stands for a total of eight cores per configuration. Not bad, not bad at all!

Before having a chance to even see pictures with an eight cores monster, I have to tell you about another big thing that's coming, and I am talking about new displays. Well, as we talked before, we'll get a new generation of Cinema Displays that could feature built-in iSight camera, HDMI connectivity and HDCP support, but that's nothing compared to a huge 50 inch display that Macsimmum news reported to be planned for the first part of this year! Well, I won't believe it until I see it, but I have changed my dream into an 8-core Mac Pro with a 50 inch display...
