A couple of days ago, the news broke that a female rhino living in Kenya's Nairobi National Park had been brutally killed by poachers.

To make matters even worse, it appears that the rhino was pregnant. However, this did not make the poachers think twice about slaughtering it.

According to Mongabay, the rhino was killed on Friday, August 8. The poachers stripped the animal of its horn, and then made a quick and surprisingly smooth getaway.

Local authorities are clueless about who they are, and where they might be heading.

The rhino's corpse was discovered a few days later by a tourist exploring the area, the same source details.

Since the beginning of this year, 35 rhinos living in various regions across Kenya have died at the hands of poachers.

Conservationists say the latter kill them to collect their horns, which they sell on the black market.
