Pregnant Kate Hudson Photographed Drinking Wine

She’s trying to enjoy her second pregnancy away from the spotlight, but actress Kate Hudson just can’t catch a break. Currently vacationing in Buenos Aires with boyfriend Matthew Bellamy, Kate was photographed sipping on wine – and the rest is history, as they say.

Confirmation that Kate was pregnant with her second child came in January this year and, ever since, the star has been a genuine paparazzi magnet.

This explains why the shutterbugs flew all the way to Buenos Aires to snap her and, some might say, they got their money shot when they caught her sipping on wine during dinner.

As one can easily imagine, the story immediately made headlines, with many condemning her for not abstaining from alcohol during pregnancy.

At the same time, others come to her defense, saying one glass every now and then can’t do her (or her baby) any harm.

PopEater even went to the trouble of asking a specialist about whether alcohol should be off-limits during pregnancy: he says it should be, since its effects on the fetus are not known for the time being, so it’s best to be cautious about it.

“Right now, no one really knows what amount of alcohol is harmful for the fetus, so it’s recommended that you don’t drink at all during pregnancy,” an unnamed New York-based OB-GYN says.

He hasn’t treated Kate and doesn’t even know her, but he believes the best idea during pregnancy is to abstain from alcohol. “We just don’t know enough,” he stresses.

In a recent interview on a British show, the actress revealed she was thrilled about being a mommy again and admitted that she was having fun with the pregnancy, as we also reported at the time.

She said she didn’t have names for the child just yet but that she and Matt were constantly talking about it. Asked about the gender, Hudson claimed it “felt” like she was having a girl.

As for those pesky engagement rumors, they weren’t true. “No, no, not that I know of! I don’t like putting that sort of pressure on it and I don’t feel it necessary to get married,” the star said in the same interview.
