14 DAY TRIAL // Since 1991, when a heavily pregnant Demi Moore posed in the buff for Vanity Fair magazine, this type of shoots have become customary with stars, who celebrate this special moment in their life and the beauty of the female pregnant body by literally showing it off to the world.
Christina Aguilera is now at her second spread of this type: she did it before, 6 years ago, when she posed for Marie Claire while pregnant with her son by ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
Right now, Christina is pregnant with a baby girl by fiancé Matthew Rutler, whom she met and reportedly fell in love with on the set of the movie “Burlesque,” where he worked as an assistant.
The two became engaged this year, and shortly afterwards, also announced the happy news to the fans: they were about to become parents. Since then, they have managed to keep a relatively low profile, with the occasional paparazzi photo op emerging online.
But when Christina does something, boy, she does it big! Usually, when celebrities prepare for this type of shoots (like Jessica Simpson, for example), rumors about it get online days before the actual spread, but with Christina, there was complete radio silence. No one knew she would be coming out with a spread like this.
V Magazine released the photos online some hours ago, and also a few details about the shoot.
Christina herself picked the photographer, Brian Bowen Smith, because he’s her favorite and she felt most comfortable working with him. The spread includes both black and white portraits and color photos, of Christina alone and of Christina and Matt.
Because all the shots are very revealing, we can’t include them here, but they’re available online. The image attached to this article is of Christina wearing a white dress, lying on the floor, while a shirtless Matt is bending over her to kiss her on the lips.
“As a woman, I’m proud to embrace my body through all stages of life, staying fearless and confident in surrendering to the unknowns the future has in store,” the singer tells the publication about becoming a mother for the second time.
It is known that she’s having a girl because she told People a short while ago, “I'm really excited to meet our baby girl… This has been a very easy and enjoyable pregnancy.” She is expected to give birth later this month.
