Pregnant Adriana Lima Steals the Show at Lunar Landing Celebration

It was a night packed with celebrities, models, designers and astronauts: it was the Louis Vuitton party held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York to celebrate 40 years since the first Lunar landing. It was also the event where 28-year-old supermodel Adriana Lima debuted her baby bump – and stole almost the entire show altogether, as JustJared can confirm.

Lima, considered one of the most beautiful women in showbiz and fashion at the moment, is also one of the highest earners in modeling. News of her eloping with fiancé NBA star Marko Jaric broke the hearts of many a man.

Confirmation that she was expecting her first child also had about the same effect, since it meant less public appearances and modeling gigs for Lima. Everything changed last night, when the model showed she could work the red carpet better than anyone else.

In all fairness, this is precisely what she did, as several US publications also point out. While the other models and celebrities in attendance settled for just holding a pose and smiling for the cameras, Lima was like manna for the media.

Dressed in a pale blue chiffon dress cut under the chest, with sparkly sandals and plenty of smiles to go around for everybody, Adriana made faces, flirted and proudly showed her baby bump for the cameras. In doing so, she also stole the show, some publications even referring to her as a ray of light at the event, or the life of the party.

After her rep confirmed the pregnancy back in May, Adriana too addressed the media, rubbishing reports that hers was a shotgun wedding, which is why she and Marko had chosen to have the nuptials in a remote location and away from the media. The baby coming was the best thing that could have happened to her and, at the same time, something that she would have done long ago – but just never found someone to do it with, she said.

“I never saw myself being married and having a child. Not because I did not want to. But it’s tough to find somebody. [But after meeting Marko] everything changed. I knew he was the one and I could see myself married with him and with a big family. We are so excited. We wanted this. We were ready. My mom is doing everything and getting things ready.” Adriana was telling the media not long ago.
