Most women who have given birth are well aware of the fact that their shoe size tends to increase during pregnancy. In fact, several previous studies have documented this phenomenon.

However, a recent research sheds new light on this issue, and argues that said physical change does not go away in time. Quite the contrary: the increase in a mother's feet length is a permanent one. My Health News Daily says that the average women can experience an increase of 2-10 millimeters (0.1 – 0.4 inches) in the length of their feet, and that this change is more often than not coupled with a decrease in the height of their Arch.

Interestingly enough, it appears that such bodily changes mostly affect first-time mothers.

Thus, women who give birth to several children need not worry about their shoe size going up every time they have another baby.
