Precise Puppy 5.7, a distribution built from Ubuntu Precise Pangolin 12.04.2, alongside the binary DEB packages, providing full compatibility with Ubuntu and access to the vast Ubuntu package repository, has been released.

Precise Puppy 5.7 features two web browsers, SeaMonkey and Opera, and a lot of other new features and fixes.

Highlights of Precise Puppy 5.7:

• The "retro flavour" has received analog modem drivers for agrsm, dgcmodem, ess, conexant hcf/hsf, Intel 536/537, lucent, pctel, smartlink, and more.; • Many libraries have been updated; • The PeasyGlue application has been added; • Pidgin has been added as the default chat client; • The distribution is based on Linux kernel 3.9.11.
