CompanionLink announced on Friday that it guarantees that the upcoming Palm Pre would be able to offer standalone Microsoft Outlook users a two-way sync solution at the time when the device would be launched on the market. It seems that the Pre will indeed be able to provide users with a solution to sync their Palm Desktop, Outlook, and other PIM data from the desktop to the handset.

According to the provider of synchronization solutions, the method used for the future Pre would be Outlook to Google, Google to the Pre. The CompanionLink for Google is able to deliver a two-way sync solution between Microsoft Outlook and Google, allowing this way users to benefit from a seamless synchronization of their contacts, calendar and tasks to Google.

Gayland Bruns, CEO of CompanionLink Software, stated the following, “Since CompanionLink already supports Outlook to Google sync, it means Synergy/Outlook users will have the ability to get their desktop contacts and calendar information on their Palm Pre phones on the same day that the Palm Pre launches.” His remark comes after the Palm Pre product manager, Tim Pettitt, demoed at CTIA Wireless 2009 Show in Las Vegas the Palm Pre Calendar application, while also showcasing its sync capabilities to Google.

On related news, we learn that this won't be the only app that would be available for Pre users the day that the handset launches. Along with it, we should also be able to enjoy MotionApps' Classic app for webOS, which is meant to allow those that are already accustomed with the older Palm OS to run specific applications on the new webOS-powered device. While offering compatibility with some popular applications, the software solution is also meant to provide better performance speeds, “Compared to Treo 700p your PalmOS apps will run approximately twice as fast on Classic,” states the company.
