Mobile phone maker Motorola announced only two days ago that its first device running under Google's Android operating system was set to come to the market as the Motorola CLIQ in the US and as Motorola DEXT in the rest of the world, and now the first hints towards its availability have emerged. The handset seems set to become available in the UK on Orange at the beginning of October, while US users will be able to get it most probably in early November.

Motorola DEXT's page on Motorola.com shows that the mobile phone will become available for pre-order on Orange UK on September 22, and that it will hit the market in early October. At the same time, TmoNews shows a picture that reads clearly “Pre-order starts on 10/19.” Considering the fact that T-Mobile usually launches its handsets about three weeks from the pre-order kick-off, it would be safe to assume that the beginning of November is that release time frame for the Motorola CLIQ.

Unfortunately, no exact details on the pricing of the phone have been unveiled, though we might assume that DEXT will come to the UK for free on a contract. More information on the CLIQ's cost will certainly surface as the pre-order day nears, for the carrier is expected to officially announce the phone's availability at that time.

Interestingly enough, although Motorola announced its first mobile device powered by Android as the Motorola CLIQ, though mentioning it would come as DEXT in other markets, these launch dates show that US Android fans will get the phone later than others. This wouldn't be the first time when T-Mobile launches a phone later than other carriers, yet it has been expected to have the CLIQ at least during the same time frame as the rest of the world.

Motorola's first Android device, which seems to be the same as the recently spotted M200, is set to show to the world that the phone maker is still capable of delivering attractive and powerful handsets. Other Android-based phones are also expected to come from the company, with availability on the airwaves of more carriers, including Verizon.
