Fotoxx 14.05, a free, open source Linux photo editing and collection management program that’s easy to use and install, is now available for download.

There aren't many powerful image editors on the Linux platform, with the exception of a couple of applications that actually cost money, but Fotoxx is up to the task.

Fotoxx provides a hassle-free solution to simple photo editing and library management. This is not a major update for the application, but it still comes with quite a few fixes and improvements.

According to the changelog, a number of deprecated GTK functions have been updated and you will need at least Ubuntu 13.10 to run the application, the Blur function for a large radius (>20) has been improved and is now almost 10x times faster, a new function Color Drawing is now able to convert a photo into a color drawing, and the flakey plugins editor has been improved.

Also, the Retouch Combo function has been revised for better control of color changes, Retouch Combo is now able to load and save its settings from and to a file, and a memory leak in Dark/Bright Pixels has been fixed.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement. You can download Fotoxx 14.05 right now from Softpedia.
