There is a new and mighty mobile personal computer up for sale, courtesy of Origin PC. Called EON17-SLX 3D, it has all the hardware that gamers could ever need, and more.

Even though the high-end gaming notebook market segment is fairly small in terms of potential customers, laptops that fit the definition make the news at least as often as others, since mid-range and low-end mobile PCs often get glossed over in the rush to provide media coverage to the “good stuff.”

Origin PC's newest model will probably wash away whatever guilt people may be feeling over that fact.

As one of the most powerful portable systems on the market, it pairs an Intel Core i7 central processing unit (CPU) with two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M graphics cards in SLI mode.

This ensures a high computing and video prowess, more than enough to paint two sets of Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) images on the 17.3-inch 120 Hz LED LCD.

The refresh rate is mandatory for 3D media playback and gaming. Two sets of images are played at once, at 60 Hz each, one aimed at the right eye and one at the left.

The bundled pair of 3D Vision Wireless Glasses (3D Vision 2 Technology is used) synchronizes the sets into a single, immersive view.

The memory, storage and networking capabilities are customizable. In fact, though Origin PC has a “basic” configuration priced at $2,193 / 1,672-2,193 Euro, it is possible to go quite a bit above that.

"ORIGIN PC is always looking to receive feedback from the community and our customers' have been requesting for the EON17-SLX to be available in stereoscopic 3D," says Kevin Wasielewski, CEO/co-founder of Origin PC.

"NVIDIA 3D Vision provides the most immersive gaming experience on any ORIGIN PC and with dual GPU's on the EON17-SLX, the graphics are spectacular and literally in your face."

Origin PC ships the EON17-SLX 3D with its professional CPU and GPU overclocking technology and utilities. Orders can be placed here.
