FISHLABS has released Powerboat Challenge on the iTunes App Store. iPhone and iPod touch users, running firmware 2.0 or higher, can grab the title for $3.99, and choose from four cool characters with stylish racing boats, which they can also tune for more speed and excitement.

Reports emerged, after the game's release on iPhone and iPod touch, revealing that Powerboat Challenge had gotten spectacular ratings. However, for iPhone owners, the game now offers an even better experience with fast powerboats, cool dudes, hot babes, and cheeky comments, and is uncompromising in terms of sound and graphics. Powerboat Challenge for iPhone boasts four times higher texture resolution and three times more polygons than in the Java version, making every detail crystal clear. As you might imagine, the sound experience is equally pleasant.

Along with the upgrades to the audio and graphics, the menus have also been adapted for the iPhone and optimized. The analogue control via the accelerometer is the real improvement of the product, which can be used to smoothly guide the boats across the water and around buoys in lap, time, or elimination races. Prize cash can be spent in the Tuning Shop for a faster motor, turbo drive, or chip tuning, in order to improve your chances of victory. According to its makers, the new version for Apple's handset offers a gaming experience comparable to that of the latest mobile gaming consoles. Additionally, it should be almost 10 times larger in size, as compared to its predecessor (10.2MB).
