A new PowerISO has just been released, bringing to the table mostly new things, bit minor bug fixes and enhancements are also on the menu.

Version 4.9 of the application can show the progress of a job right in Windows 7’s taskbar, making it easier for you to spot the advancement of a job.

Starting this version of the software, ISZ format is on the list of supported formats. ISZ files are actually ZIP compressions of ISO images (Zipped ISO Disk Image). Extended functionality is also given by improved support for UDF files.

PowerISO is a powerful tool that can help you create image archives from media such as CD, DVD and Blu-ray discs. It allows you to open, extract, burn, create, edit, compress, encrypt, split and convert ISO files as well as mounting them on the system as virtual drives.
