CyberLink, the team behind the popular PowerDVD media player, has just announced the availability of the Android version of its highly-acclaimed application.

Unfortunately, not all Android fans will be able to use the newly ported application on their devices, as PowerDVD Mobile is only available for Android tablets.

Despite the limited compatibility, the new all-in-one media player for Android devices offers users the possibility to play, share and wirelessly stream their multimedia content, including videos, music and photos, between PC and Android tablets.

It appears that CyberLink's developing team was pretty busy lately, as the announcement comes immediately after the company announced several major updates to its flagship PowerDVD11 universal media player.

CyberLink has always been synonymous with creating innovative digital media solutions. With the release of PowerDVD Mobile, we are proud to add a new solution that takes advantage of the momentum from Android device adoption and brings the premium entertainment experience of PowerDVD beyond the PC. Users can now conveniently enjoy their movies, videos and photos on the PC, in the living room or on the go,” said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink Corp.

Among the most important features of the Android application, one cannot miss the possibility to play media from an Android device to DLNA TVs using the Play To function.

In addition, the application can be used as an all-in-one media player for videos, photos, and music on Android tablets, while on the move.

With PowerDVD Mobile users can create and watch slideshows of their photos or even create playlists and choose from a wide range of options meant to make the media library easy to browse.

According to CyberLink, the application uses libjpeg open source library and supports the following display resolutions: 1280 x 800, 1280 x 768 and 1024 x 600.

PowerDVD Mobile is now available for download from the Android Market for $20 and is fully compatible with all tablets running Android 3.0 and higher.
