PowerColor Outs the SlingIt, a Full HD Wireless Video Streaming Device

PowerColor isn't the first company that comes to one's mind when thinking about wireless multimedia streaming solutions, but this hasn't stopped the maker from releasing such a device, which it calls the SlingIt.

Like most other wireless streaming devices, the SligIt is comprised of two units, a transmitter that connects to your laptop or other video source and a receiver that hooks up to the TV.

Both of these connect via an HDMI port, and get their power from an external power brick.

Once the two SlingIt devices have been installed (they don't require any drivers), they are ready to stream 1920x1080 resolution video, even in 3D, throughout your house.

PowerColor claims that the SlingIt is good not only for video playback, but also for gaming, which seems to suggest that we are dealing with a low-latency steaming solution, but it doesn't say more in this regard, so I am a bit skeptical about this claim.

Sadly pricing and availability haven't been mentioned, but it shouldn't take long for the SlingIt to reach the market.
