For some time now, AMD has been rumored to be preparing the release of yet another Radeon graphics card, part of the company's extensive line of HD4xxx-series of GPUs. The new card is said to provide users with a performance similar to the Radeon HD 4770, based on the new 40nm manufacturing process. However, the new model will be based on a 55nm GPU, offering users an alternative to a card that is still hard to find on sale. On that note, the recently unannounced Radeon HD 4730 has just been listed on the websites of several German e-tailers, providing users with an alternative to AMD's Radeon HD 4770.

The PowerColor HD4730 is listed for around 75€, which will provide you with the performance of the 55nm RV770LE graphics processing unit. This card has been featured with a core speed of 700MHz, while the 512MB of GDDR5 memory have been clocked to 3600MHz with a 128-bit memory interface. Additional features include 640 shader processors, a custom cooling dual-slot cooler and dual DVI connectors.

As far as performance goes, this card is expected to provide users with performance levels similar to those of 40nm-based Radeon HD4770, while also being a more affordable graphics card alternative. PowerColor announced the new card late last month, as an addition to the company's line of HD4700-series GPUs. Designed to provide users with support for an affordable, gaming-capable desktop rig, the card has been equipped with fast GDDR5 memory and a PCS (Professional Cooling Solution) cooler, designed by ARTIC COOLING.

PowerColor's HD 4730 is compatible with Microsoft's DirectX 10.1 API and ATI's CrossFireX technology for multi-GPU desktop setups, delivering support for the latest gaming applications, while with the CrossFireX technology users will be able to boost their system's performance by adding another Radeon HD 4730 card.
