The PowerBlue '08 theme set is officially available for Apple's Keynote '08 software. No more hard work prepping each week's slides, no more visiting master slides to change the timeline color or location and not more re-scaling your presentation for the big screen. Everything you ever wanted from a keynote software is finally available.

The template set adds all the standard HD sizes, iPod/DVD and 1920x1200 layout to match Apple HD screen resolution. A total of seven sizes are available, while the theme has been completely rebuilt using the Keynote '08 Media Placeholder system. A total of 36 theme files are available at the moment.

As KeynoteUser.com themselves put it, class lecturers are required a lot of prepping, as far as each week's slides are concerned. Seeking to remedy this, they have created a whole theme just for this kind of activity, complete with replaceable headers and footers, special "outline" type layouts, unique title treatments, even adding a whole set of timeline layouts to help prep a lecture much faster.

And, as PowerBlue '08 now includes a 720x540 layout, instead of re-scaling your presentation, you can now choose the 720x540 layout. Keynote uses the same size to export to iDVD.

PowerBlue '08 also includes tons of extra goodies to use in presentations, such as overlays, custom shapes (arrows, magnifying glasses, houses, etc) and even a mini button building system, that asks users to choose a style and then use the Copy Style/Paste style commands to apply a style to the button. A set of translucent highlight boxes that can be stretched into different shapes and sizes (with or without a drop shadow) is also included in the package.

KeynoteUser has even included complete instructions on how the theme was built, so you can use it as a pattern to create your own themes and while PowerBlue is now available for $38, those looking only to upgrade their keynote software get a discount.

UPDATE: We want to thank Brian Peat from KeynoteUser.com for clearing things up related to the PowerBlue '08 theme set. The article has been changed accordingly.
