Wondering where from to get your ATI Radeon 4850 graphics card? How about Germany, from an online retailer that has listed a PowerColor branded Radeon HD 4850 card as being in stock? Now, this should definitely come as a nice surprise to gaming users and technology enthusiasts who want to be among the first to get their hands on one of AMD's next-generation graphics card.

On the other hand, this tells us another
thing: we might as well start getting ready for the official announcement regarding the RV770-based lineup. This also means that we shouldn't be too shocked if, come next Monday, the unleashonetera site finally displays the new cards.

The German site in question is called Geizhals, and the PowerColor card it listed as available has a GPU clocked at 625MHz and comes with 512MB of GDDR3 memory, running at a top speed of 1800MHz. According to the site, the card is ready for delivery and you only need to pay €179.90, tax included, but shipment costs not. The same website has also listed a Gigabyte version of the Radeon 4850 GPU. The model is dubbed GV-R485-512H-B but, unlike the PowerColor card, it will take another 24 hours for this one to arrive in stock. However, it does come with a better price tag than its PowerColor competitor, set at only €169.90.

Without doubt, given recent developments, we can easily say that this is NVIDIA's week. Come next week, we should expect AMD to finally bring to light its new lineup. When that happens, we will finally get to see if AMD has succeeded in narrowing or even in actually writing off NVIDIA's advantage in the high-end graphics market. Expectations are higher at this point, especially since early reviews give AMD's new lineup a real chance of competing against NVIDIA's GT200 series graphics cards.

However, this remains to be seen, and nothing can really be certain until AMD's new RV770-based graphics card finally arrive in stores. If this is to happen next week, the better for all of us.
