Angelina Jolie's feature film directorial debut has managed to ruffle a lot of feathers since day 1, but that's not to say it's not a project worthy of looking forward to. If anything, it's just that, as the official poster also hints.
Called “In the Land of Blood and Honey,” the film tells the story of two lovers against the backdrop of the 1990s civil war in Bosnia.
The poster combines the two elements to perfection, showing two silhouettes made of blood spatters, one male and one female, leaning towards each other as if to kiss.
While the artwork may hint that the film will deal mostly with the couple's tragic story of love and loss, Jolie insists it's more than that.
“It’s a father and son, it’s sisters, mother and child, friends. What happens to all of these different relationships when you live inside [war] – even if they’re great, strong, loving, tight relationships,” she says.
“In the Land of Blood and Honey” comes out in limited release in December and then in more territories in January 2012.
