The Dude goes Postal again

Running With Scissors just made this day better by releasing three new screenshot of its long-awaited sequel to the famous Postal II game. Postal III will be released in the second quarter of 2008, so we'll have a lot to wait and many screenshots and trailers to drool upon. Following the ban on Manhunt, we sit and wonder if the new Postal will share the same fate or not.

There are surely parents that would have liked the previous title in the Postal series to be banned, but the game had its share of glory back in the days. It seems that we'll see a couple of famous appearances in the new title, ranging from Playmates to film stars, but we don't have any names yet. You might be aware that Postal II used the famous Unreal engine, but that won't happen with the new title, as it will be powered by Valve's Source engine.

So, here we are, almost a year away from the Dude's new adventures. I wonder if he'll use cats as "silencers" for his weapons again, or urinate on the people passing by... Will the shovel be part of his arsenal? From the screenshots below we can figure out that the main character is as demented as ever using a dog (or a giant weird cat) as a weapon splitting the average citizens apart. What's that thing at the animal's neck? Could it be some sort of controlling device? And why is he holding the beast like it was a chainsaw?

We have a lot of questions for now, but the answers will come as time passes by, probably as scarce as those we got back in the days when Grand Theft Auto IV was only an unconfirmed rumor... We remind you that using your pets as weapons is not moral and legal, so you'd better wait for Postal III if you want to torment a few doggies.
