Here is something that we don't get every day. It appears that post-punk band Fall Out Boy has just released its first ever application for mobile devices, and it doesn't come as a surprise that it has chosen to launch a Flappy Bird clone.

Obviously, the game has been developed by a third-party company named Mass Threat, which also developed the 50 Ways to Survive game on behalf of another music band called Train.

According to David Nelson, lead game designer and developer at Mass Threat, the guys in Fall Out Boy, “were big fans of Flappy Bird and were also pretty intrigued by all of the unusual circumstances surrounding that game and its creator. So, when the game went down, they thought it’d be amazing to put their own twist on it and pay tribute.”

The folks at Mass Threat managed to finish the initial development of the Flappy Bird clone in around 24 hours: “It was definitely a mad dash. Of course, the members of Fall Out Boy were involved in the creation of the game, as well.

They are absolutely the driving creative force on these titles. Nobody knows their fans like them, and it is only with their input that we’re able to create a fun, well-received title,” said David.

Even though we have mentioned earlier that this is the first mobile application for Fall Out Boy band, it's not really the first game, as the same developers at Mass Threat have created a Flash-based web game called “Fall Out Boy Trai” - a tribute to the classic Oregon Trail.

The current game is called Fall Out Bird and is a homage to the game that provided the band with hours of entertainment and frustration.

You can now download Fall Out Bird for Windows Phone 1.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the game is only compatible with devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
