Expected to be included in the BOGO promotion too

Mobile-phone carrier Verizon Wireless already unveiled officially its plans on the launch of Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus, the upgraded versions of the webOS-based Palm Pre and Palm Pixi currently available for purchase in the US via Sprint, and now more details on the matter surfaced on the web. According to the news, it seems that Big Red is aiming at offering the two phones on similar prices as those available from Sprint at the moment.

To be more precise, phone Arena says that an anonymous tipster unveiled the fact that Verizon intended to make the Palm Pre Plus available for purchase priced at $149.99 with a $100 mail-in rebate and after the signing of a two-year contract agreement. At the same time, the Palm Pixi Plus is expected to be priced at $99.99 on a contract, after mail-in rebate, and all should start as soon as the two phones land at Verizon come January 25.

The best part of the deal is still to come, though, as the rumor suggests the Pixi Plus will be included in Verizon's ongoing Buy One, Get One Free promotion. The carrier launched the BOGO promotion for BlackBerry devices at the beginning, yet now most of you might know that the carrier's Android-based DROID ERIS is also included there, and that the same applies to a wide range of other mobile phones and devices too.

What having Pixi Plus included in the BOGO promotion means is the fact that one will be able to get one unit for free while purchasing another one. Both handsets will have to be acquired with a contract agreement. Having a Pixi Plus for free might be an option for those going for the Palm Pre Plus too, the same as those purchasing a Motorola DROID can get a free DROID ERIS. For what it's worth, the price tags for the two webOS phones seem to be quite appealing, yet it remains to be seen whether the rumor will pan out or not in the end, so stay tuned for more.
