Porteus Kiosk Edition, a portable Linux operating system that can be installed on a USB device, CDROM, SD card or hard drive, and based on the Linux Live Scripts, has just reached version 2.0.1.

Porteus 2.0.1 (Kiosk Edition) is based on Slackware 14.0 and relies on Linux kernel 3.8.6 and Firefox 20.0. It's a 32-bit system which is entirely locked down to prevent tampering with any of the components (including the browser). Highlights of Porteus 2.0.1 Kiosk Edition:

• Support has been added for touchscreen devices and 10Gb network cards; • The Flash Player has been updated to version 11.2.202.275; • All xorg drivers (input, video) have been updated to latest versions; • The default ISO is no longer in the "isohybrid" format.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official announcement.
