The 29th edition of the GamesMasters Golden Joysticks Awards has taken place in London and the big winner of the night was Portal 2, the first person puzzle and platformer created by Valve, which picked up the Alienware sponsored Ultimate Game of the Year prize.
The awards are voted on by the gaming public and managed to break the Guinness World Record for most votes cast during a gaming award process, with more than 2.06 million people delivering their opinion on the best video game of the last 12 months.
The ceremony also looked at the coming video games, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from Bethesda set to be the most anticipated new release and a serious candidate for the awards next year.
