This is the second phone the two companies have developed together

It seems that the French company Sagem and the Germans from Porsche Design get along just fine when it comes to high-end mobile phones. After the unique and elegant P9521 mobile phone they came up with, they have decided to bring customers yet another little jewel, under the dubbing of P9522.

The name might sound a bit strange and not very appealing, but this is because the German producer brands its products with P from, you guessed it, “product” and then, when it comes to electronics, the generic name is 500, while 22 seems to be the actual “name” of the phone.

While the Porsche P9521 was a clamshell phone, P0522 is a candybar type. Nevertheless, it has a certain style and looks that really make you not want to take your eyes from it. The phone is carved from an aluminum block, and has a large touchscreen of 2.8 inches made of reinforced mineral glass. This display won't crack. Ever.

The device also incorporates a 5 megapixel digital camera, GPS receiver, Wi-Fi connectivity and a built-in fingerprint reader, and runs on GSM/EDGE networks. Yes, this means no 3G for it. The explanation came from Vice President of Sagem Mobiles, Jean-Luc Heal, who said that, "This is not a demand of our customers and we believe that democratization of Wifi satisfy adherents of the Internet mobile.”

Furthermore, Sagem included in this phone all that users could want in terms of software. The touchscreen interface is really easy to use and, aside from that, the device comes with third-party applications like Esmertec (a Java engine), Openwave (used for messaging and downloading), Wayfinder (Mapping) and Opera (for web / WAP browsing).

This phone will be made available in France beginning October, for a retail price of 600 Euros. If you are a Porsche fan and you want something to perfectly match your car, then you might consider this device.
