Porsche P9521, the first mobile phone to bear the Porsche name and logo, is now available across India, being targeted at users in need of more-than-ordinary handsets. The P9521 falls into the luxury category, due to the exclusive materials that it's built from: mineral glass and aluminum.
Already available across Europe since the end of last year, Porsche P9521 was created by the Porsche Design Group in collaboration with Sagem, the French handset manufacturer known for having ventured more than once into creating fashionable devices.
"Fashionable" is a good term for describing the P9521, as the phone looks both unique and elegant. The handset comes in a clamshell form factor and it can be opened at 360 degrees. The features of P9521 include: a 2.2 inch internal TFT touchscreen display with 320 x 240 pixels, an external 1.1 inch AMOLED screen with 128 x 96 pixels, fingerprint recognition, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB, Music player with support for (MP3, MIDI, WAV and AAC ), Video player and 22MB of internal memory, helped by a 2GB card included in the package. The handset also packs a 3.2 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and video recording, which (theoretically) should offer users the chance to take photos at a good quality.
The P9521 weighs 139 grams and, when not flipped, it measures 91 x 48 x 18.4 millimeters. Its battery, like most of the ones included in luxury handsets, is not among the most powerful ones and can only provide a talk-time of up to 3 hours.
Porsche P9521 can be acquired in India for the retail price of 77,000 INR, the equivalent of $1,800 or 1,140 Euros. Quite a lot, even for a high-end mobile phone, but I'm sure there will be many users who won't mind paying this price to show their wealth.
