Porn on the Swedish News

It's not uncommon for television presenters to make mistakes while on air, but news anchor Peter Dahlgren from the Swedish network STV will probably go down in history as the first person to present a news report with a porn background.

Viewers switched on their TV sets to watch a 5-minute news update but, to their surprise, they got much more than that. People in the studio had been watching a football match earlier, before Peter went on air, and by mistake they forgot to turn the monitor off. The game was viewed on one the many monitors placed on the wall behind the anchor man.

Unfortunately (or not), they were not aware that the respective channel broadcasts adult-content movies after a certain hour and, immediately after the anchor man started to talk, viewers had the chance to see scenes from a very explicit Czech porn film in the background.

At one point, a producer realized what was going on and went into the control room and turned the monitor off. News director Per Yng said that the moment was 'highly embarrassing and unfortunate' for the television channel, but that no viewers filed complaints about the incident.

But it did get a lot of attention from the media: one of the most read Swedish tabloids made fun of the network and changed the name of the show from 'Rapport' to 'Rapporn'. Yng assures the viewers that a 'huge blunder' as this will never happen again.
