One has to watch events posted on Twitter live to qualify

Believers can now get some time off in the purgatory if they follow Pope Francis's speeches, masses and other events for the Catholic World Youth Day.

According to the Guardian, those watching these celebrations can get an "indulgence," a traditional right granted by the Catholic church to those who display phenomenal signs of devotion.

The honor should help absolve sins faster, thus spending a lot less time in the purgatory. Since not anyone can travel to Catholic World Youth Day, which takes place in Brazil, Vatican press reps have clarified that one can watch the events in the media.

Live TV streaming as well as watching the celebrations live on Twitter will get you an "indulgence." In true contest fashion, you only qualify if you watch the events live.

I have seen that social media can cause brawls, arrests, riots and even revolutions, but can it get you on a conveyor belt straight to salvation?

"I want to mock or joke about this but I cannot stop laughing," one user comments.

Imposing conditions on sinners, such as the fact that you can only watch the events live, sounds truly joke worthy.

I am now expecting for the Vatican to ask for Facebook likes and give more comfortable seating in Heaven in return.
