For quite some time now, the Pope has shown a great interest in greening up his ways of getting around. Thus, a Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid and a solar-powered car were two of his first options.

However, thanks to car manufacturer Renault, His Holiness can now drive around in an all-electric vehicle designed especially to meet his very special needs.

As sources inform us, the Pope got his all-electric car only two days ago, when it was delivered to his summer house in Castel Gandolfo.

What is even more interesting is that Renault decided to donate one more EV to the Pope, which supposedly is to be used by the bodyguards looking after him.

“This donation to His Holiness is a means for Renault to reaffirm its strong and durable commitment to sustainable development and respect for the environment,” explained Renault Group's Chairman and CEO.
