The development team at PopCap Games says that it is currently working on a new title for home consoles, presumably the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, while also aiming to deliver more content for Peggle 2.

Gary Clay, the franchise marketing manager at the studio, tells Digital Spy that the company has a structure that allows it to handle mobile development for a variety of experiences while also creating new content for the PC and other home platforms.

He adds, "We’re working on Peggle 2, and we’re working on updates for Peggle 2 and looking at bringing that to other platforms in future, and new IP as well. So expect to see a lot more from PopCap HD coming forward."

Late in 2013 the PopCap Games announced that it was seeking to hire a new software engineer that had experience working with the Frostbite 2 engine from DICE and had already delivered at least one AAA console experience.

Neither the studio nor publisher Electronic Arts are willing to offer any sort of details on the new title, but it might be revealed during the E3 2014 press conference.

PopCap Games is also unwilling to deliver any information on the new content that will be delivered for Peggle 2.
