PopCap's Peggle Goes Mobile This Fall

PopCap Games, the famous North American game developer based in Seattle, has just announced that its highly-popular, award-winning Peggle game will be soon launched in a mobile version. Simply called Peggle Mobile, the "made for handsets" game will be unleashed in North America (via major mobile carriers), as well as across Europe.

 

When exactly will Peggle be available for mobile phones? No later than the end of September, hence fans of the existing game should be readying their handsets as of now.

 

Downloaded so far in more than 20 million copies (since March 2007, when it was first launched), Peggle is one of PopCap's most loved games, receiving numerous awards. Successfully combining elements from basic games like pinball, pachinko and pool, Peggle comes to offer a new twist on gaming. No word yet on what exactly the mobile version will be like, but it shouldn't be too different from the desktop one. Thus, players should expect lots of difficult levels, Grand Master challenges and magic powers to be discovered.

Peggle is not PopCap's first title to go mobile, as the American company has already published other four games for this platform: Zuma, Bejeweled, Bookworm and Chuzzle, all of which have become the favorites of many mobile gamers. Moreover, PopCap says that it is currently working on a "half-dozen" of other new mobile games, so we should expect more cool titles to appear in the next few months.
