Amidst speculation that Jon Gosselin is thinking ahead of TLC and the reported
imminent sacking from the reality show that made him a star, “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” by
shopping around an idea for his own reality show, a new poll shows that this is actually the last thing audiences in the US want.
TV Guide polled viewers on whether they would watch Jon Gosselin’s supposed new show and the answer it got was an almost unanimous no.
It seems that Jon Gosselin lost whatever hook he had with the audience while still a husband to Kate Gosselin and a doting father of eight, as portrayed on “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” As a matter of fact, the poll appears to indicate beyond all doubt that the last thing viewers would want right now would be a new reality show centered just on him. Allegations of cheating, partying and the general attitude that Jon displayed in recent months are believed to be the main causes for the massive drop in popularity.
“It’s almost unanimous: Participants in a TVGuide poll want Jon Gosselin’s 15 minutes of fame to end. In a poll that asked users if they would watch the ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ star in a new reality show, 94 percent of the votes, out of more than 2,400 cast, chose the option, ‘No, I can’t stand this guy anymore.’ Some of the reasons posted by users? Jon is ‘a yack’ and an ‘attention hound’.” TV Guide writes.
Voters also expressed their belief that the only people making the remaining 4 percent that would watch the rumored reality show would be comprised by Hailey Glassman, Gosselin’s current girlfriend, and Michael Lohan, Lindsay Lohan’s father and Jon’s latest best friend, occasionally acting as his spokesperson and career advisor. However, whether the results of the recent poll will influence in any way Jon Gosselin’s decision to start his own show and, thus, cash in more on his fame, is yet to be determined.

informed you the other day, Gosselin already knows that TLC, the network carrying “Jon & Kate Plus 8” is considering cutting him loose for violating a morals clause included in his contract. “We’re told TLC is not happy with Jon Gosselin, but Jonnie boy may not care, because he has his sights set on a new show. We’re told Jon is in talks with a major production company – Endomol – to appear in a show called ‘Divorced Dad’s Club.’ We told the show chronicles the lives of famous divorced fathers.” TMZ was saying a short while back.
