14 DAY TRIAL // Not that Americans needed a poll to confirm this, but, as it turns out, the most despised woman in the country is, right now, Casey Anthony. Octomom Nadya Suleman isn’t that far behind, proving, as the Los Angeles Times points out, that people here will never forgive a mom who wrongs her own children, one way or another.
The poll was conducted by E-Poll Market Research to determine “public awareness and the appeal of 6,000 celebrities,” the publication reports, with the aim to help clients “make informed decisions for endorsements, casting and product development.”
Of those surveyed, more than half had heard of Casey Anthony, the woman who stood trial for and was cleared of the murder of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.
An overwhelming 94 percent of those who had heard of Anthony openly disliked her, which means she officially takes the crown for America’s most hated woman.
At number two, we find a reality star whose sole alleged crime is that of being terminally annoying: Spencer Pratt of “The Hills” fame.
Even though Pratt and his better / worse half Heidi Montag are now saying they’re aiming for a life out of the spotlight, claiming they’ve already spent the money they made during their brief careers in television, it seems audiences still harbor a profound dislike of him.
The same goes for Nadya Suleman, dubbed Octomom in the press. She too is now trying to prove her haters wrong, but that doesn’t change the fact that she has 14 children, no stable income and has made plenty of regrettable decisions in her life so far.
Suleman is third on the list.
At number 4, Americans voted for another alleged murderer, O.J. Simpson, while Jon Gosselin of the now-defunct “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” is hot on his heels at number 5 despite the fact that he hasn’t been out in the spotlight for many months.
Some damages, it seems, once done, can’t be fixed.
Levi Johnston dated Bristol Palin, got her pregnant, cheated on her, broke up with her, got back together and then cheated once more, before starting to talk trash about the entire Palin clan. For this and much more, he’s the sixth most despised person in the US.
Jesse James followed about the same route as Levi, but with Oscar-winning actress / America’s sweetheart Sandra Bullock, so he lands at number 7, followed at 8 by Paris Hilton.
Hollywood Madame Heidi Fleiss ranked ninth, while Howard Stern rounds up the chart, at number 10.
