Just the other day, brave K-9 police officer Lucas fought off three attackers all on his own and saved the life of his human partner, deputy Todd Frazier.

The incident happened in the city of Long Beach in Mississippi, US, on Monday, and law enforcement officer Todd Frazier is the first to admit that, had it not been for Lucas, he would have been dead now.

The attackers were determined to kill the officer

Todd Frazier says that, on the night of the incident, he noticed a man who appeared to be passed out in the front seat of a parked car and approached the vehicle to investigate.

While he was walking towards the suspicious car, two men showed up out of the blue and started talking to him. The law enforcement officer failed to realize that they were distracting him and so didn't notice the supposedly passed out man leaving the vehicle.

Together with the two men, the car driver ambushed Todd Frazier, overpowered him and dragged him into the nearby woods. They started beating him and plainly told him that they wanted to kill him. They even started talking about how to dispose of the body when they were done.

Hoping for a miracle, deputy Todd Frazier used the remote fitted to his car key chain to unlock the back doors of his police vehicle. K-9 partner Lucas figured out that he needed help, jumped out of the car and rushed to his help. He got to him in time.

All on his own, Lucas managed to scare the attackers and chase them away. He even bit one to teach him a lesson. Defeated, the three men ran back to their car and took off, DM informs.

Deputy Todd Frazier was rushed to the hospital

Once free of the attackers, police officer Todd Frazier called for reinforcements. He was taken to a local hospital, where doctors tended to his injuries. Apart from several bruises, he had a large cut on his forehead. Even so, he is expected to make a full recovery.

For some, neither Todd Frazier nor his superiors have made any comments on why the three men attacked the deputy, let alone why they were so determined to kill him. Reports say that the attack might have had something to do with recent gang activities in the area.
