“Check yourself, before you wreck yourself” is the advice Kanye receives from chief Oliver

After Kanye West publicly compared himself to police officers and military personnel, an Ohio police chief decided to address an open letter to the star telling him a piece of his mind. The hilarious letter went viral after chief Oliver bashed Kanye in a sarcastic Facebook post.

The 45-year-old David Oliver from the Brimfield Police Department now has almost 100,000 likes after his sarcasm-dripped letter buzzed all over the Internet. He believes that Kanye likening himself to cops and soldiers is completely absurd and decided to take action.

Chief Oliver starts his Facebook letter with “Dear Kanye West, I am honored to be writing such an important start. I am a mere Internet sensation. I'm not sure I am worthy to address you […] please excuse my interference in your life for a quick second.”

The modest officer admits to reading and watching Kanye's interview and that one particular phrase stuck to his mind: “I'm just giving of my body on the stage and putting my life at risk, literally […] this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.”

With that in mind, he decided to clarify some things for the international rapper, firstly by thanking him for “putting his life on the line” in that dangerous business called rap. The officer admits he even tried to rap, but for him it is too hard to “keep up with the pulse of the rhyme flow,” and that the hardest part of the star's job is that “if you rap really fast, without a chance to inhale, you could pass out and hit your head.”

Mr. Oliver admits to his use of sarcasm before stating the actual point of the letter, the fact that he wants the star to know that he doesn't agree, not even for a moment, with his “ignorant assessment of [his] carrier,” and that only saying that proves he is a misguided person, with too much self-esteem.

As a recommendation, chief Oliver tells West to abandon his carrier and join the military, and when Talibans are shooting at him, he should stand up and work his word flow “I'm Kanye West, wearing a flak vest” to see if that works. He accuses Kanye of being part of the problem of today's society and the fact that “entertainers think they are something more than entertainers,” and suggests to “check yourself, before you wreck yourself.”

The open letter started a huge response from people all over the world criticizing Kanye's recent behavior and praising David Oliver's actions. Dave Thompson, one hilarious user commenting on the post, wrote “I was looking into a career as a professional rapper. Come to find out it's a pretty dangerous job. So I decided to become a cop.”

The rapper may be a bit out of control, fame tends to do that to some stars, the Harvard talks and the military-like rap carrier he sees for himself don't put West in a very good light.
