Although digital photography has been pretty much the market standard for the past couple of years, there are still quite a lot of people out there who can still remember the joys of Polaroid Instant Photography, and for this reason, it seems that the company's getting ready for a major comeback at the next year's CES show.

So, multiple online sources seem to have come across a teaser photo from Polaroid, bearing the title “Grey Revealed” and featuring a slightly shadowed image of a camera, whose overall size and shape do bring back memories of long-forgotten Polaroid instant cameras.

Moreover, some (Engadget, for instance) have also gone further in exploring the “mysteries” this shot has in store, by lighting the photo up in Photoshop in order to reveal a nice slot placed in the lower side of the camera, which suggests that, in fact, we're talking about a camera capable of taking photos and then instantly printing them onto photo paper.

Of course, it's rather debatable whether this attempt to keep the instant photo market alive will have any success and whether this trend will ever make it mainstream or not, but past experiences seem to paint a rather bleak picture for Polaroid.

As some of you might know, we've seen quite a few attempts of reviving instant photography with various types of cameras that arrived on the market over the past few years (the ZINK – packing Polaroid PoGo Instant Camera is the first that comes to mind), while certain organizations have dedicated quite a lot of time, money and effort to keep the last Polaroid film factories running. However, these initiatives have proved to be less than successful, and unless this future Polaroid camera brings forth some truly spectacular features (printing of 3D photos, for example), we fear that it will suffer the same fate as its predecessors.
