With Lake Superior Zoo affected by rainfall, some animals make it out of their enclosures

Recently, heavy downpours in Minnesota lead to massive floods in the region and took their toll on the Lake Superior Zoo.

Thus, many animals ended up drowned in their cages, as their caretakers could not rescue them in time.

However, Berlin, the polar bear, and one of the seals, took advantage of the situation as simply swam away from their enclosures in search of freedom.

Apparently, as water levels went up, the animals had no trouble in getting over the fences that were supposed to keep them contained.

Local authorities and zoo employees located both Berlin and the seal, and successfully placed them in temporary foster-homes.

Presently, zoo keepers are working towards moving all other animals to safety.
