Greenpeace continues its campaign against drilling in the frozen North

Whilst a life-size polar bear dummy is made to walk the streets of London, a slightly bigger one is sent up in the skies above Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It is not hard to guess why Greenpeace members chose this particular location as the proper place to launch their environmentally friendly balloon: the Rio+20 Earth Summit is presently taking place there.

Thus, they hope to convince world leaders that drilling companies should not be allowed to extend their activities to this part of the globe, and that the Arctics should remain in the sole custody of the animals living there.

Apparently, countries such as Russia, the United States, Canada, Denmark and Norway are currently striving to get a hold of bits and pieces of this icy region.
