Nintendo has just wrapped up its special Direct video conference in which the company's president, Satoru Iwata, has confirmed that two new Pokemon games will be released this fall for the Nintendo 3DS handheld, in the form of Pokemon X and Y.

The 3DS has been doing great in terms of sales, despite the fact that not a lot of big games have appeared for the portable device.

Nintendo is now looking to give owners two new must-have titles for the platform, as it's just revealed Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, the next games in the long-running series that will arrive onto the 3DS.

The titles will be launched, for the first time in the history of the franchise, at the same time around the world, as they're scheduled to hit North America, Europe, Japan, or Australia, this October.

Three new starter Pokemon have also been revealed, in the form of Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie.
